This highly structured wine is produced only in exceptional years, after careful selection of the finest grapes and with vineyard yield deliberately kept low. It is matured for nearly two years in oak barriques and for the same amount of time in the bottle before it is put on the market. Big on character, the wine’s scents of marasca cherry typical of Montepulciano grapes blend elegantly with those of wood. Suitable for lengthy ageing.
